Monsters Inc

This title sequence is from the Walt Disney Pictures Monsters Inc released in 2001, Monsters Inc is a computer-animated comedy based around the life of two Monsters Mike and Sully.

The opening title sequence is clever in the way that the notes of the music match the animations entry to the scene right at the start. Just before this the company that produced the film, Walt Disney Pictures is also displayed on screen so the viewer can know where the film has come from along with Pixar animated Studios. The sequence is very short and only actually displays the conglomerates that produced the film along with the name of the film itself. The reason behind is that is due to the films target audience which the majority would be children don’t want to see credits.

That’s what makes this catchy with its childlike animation as if it was drawn by children. The music is upbeat, jazzy, creative to gives the viewers a happy feeling. Showing the emotion of how the film will pan out and the overall meaning to the film. The constant use of doors is effective as it links to the film and gives of this impression that doors are key to the film. The colours used are mostly primary colours bright, bold, and colourful. In the sequence there is a point where a monster roars through a door and a child’s scream cry’s out afterwards. The reason why this was done was because it links to the film.
